What are we all about?

The Do Museum is built on the belief that learning happens best through doing. We transform visitors from passive observers into active creators by combining history, culture, and hands-on creation - forming deeper connections that help ideas truly stick. When applied to sewing—something woven into so much of everyday life—the experience becomes more than educational. It becomes personal, memorable, and inspiring.

Add community, and it becomes even more powerful.

That’s what makes The Sewing Do Museum special: an experience stitched together by our values of Craft + Creation + Community.

Craft

Developing hands-on skills and artistry that enhance your life and the lives of those around you.

Creation

Learning by doing and letting creativity flow until you create something that amazes you.

Community

When people come together, we learn, grow, and create more beauty than ever before.

Our Framework

Our focus is to create something meaningful, creative, and deeply community-focused. We chose a for-profit structure to start because it gives us a sustainable foundation, allows us to launch quickly, and reduces our dependence on factors outside our control, such as grants or government funding. This may change in the future, but for now, the speed and flexibility are helping us bring this project to life!

When collecting items for the museum, we always aim to purchase them. Our current build-out budget is limited, so we offer what we can and also welcome donations from those who feel connected to the mission. We strongly align with many nonprofit missions and are very open to partnerships. We love what we are building and hope the community loves it just as much!
